  • Write a truthful, precise advertisement on your car. Never  exaggerate.
  • A picture tells a thousand words, therefore the more pictures the better.  Note: Shiftndrive only allocates 5 pictures per ad.
  • Set your price based on the market value, condition, specification, etc. Never set an emotional one.
  • Clean your car before a potential buyer comes to view it. Remove all personal belongings from car.
  • Ensure you car is fit for the road. Not a write off.
  • Never leave your car unattended or alone with the potential buyer.
  • Do not accept personal cheques.
  • Never hand over the vehicle and transfer documents if full payment has not been made.
  • Ensure car is free from summonses, finance, etc before new buyer takes their car home.

Buying Your Car

  • Decide on the type of car you want.
  • Look at the various brands available and choose the one that suits your budget and ensure you stick to it.
  • Go through the shiftndrive database and  familiarise yourself with the vehicle in terms of market value, specification, common faults, etc.
  • Visit several dealers and work with one that you’re comfortable with.
  • Never agree or give in to the first price quoted by the dealer.
  • If dealing with a car dealer, do not start by asking if they accept trade ins.  Do this after you have agreed on a price with the dealers.
  • Ensure the car has no patches of paint to indicate an accident vehicle that was not properly repaired.
  • Ask for a copy of the registration card if you are almost certain this is the car you want.
  • Check and ensure the vehicle stolen or 2 half cuts combined vehicle. Get a trusted mechanic to look at the car if necessary.
